Meet Will

We would like to thank everyone who prayed for Michael's nephew. He is still on a lot of medication that makes him very hyper but he is doing much better. He hasn't had another seizure since he's been home. He is no longer dragging his foot when tired but his motor skills are still a little slow; therefore, he will continue attending therapy. Doctors are optimistic that he will grow out of the threat of seizures in late teens early twenties. Thank you for your continued prayers...the whole family is thankful for them.

Back on Track

Okay, I thought that maybe I was going to keep up with this blog but then I was introduced to facebook and myspace...yes, just recently. So, I have been spending my home computer time figuring out how to use them...

So here is the lastest update....we went to Michael's little brother, Brady's wedding last weekend in WV. We had a lovely time. The mountians are beautiful this time of year. Everything is green and it smells so fresh and clean. We forgot that even though it was July...the evenings still cooled down!

The trip home was the pits....Atlanta ground stopped for over 3 hours because of a storm, boooo. Soooo they cancelled hundreds of flights...it was a two day nightmare but we made it home and as a lesson will avoid the busiest airport on the east coast at all costs!

Jetty & Harley

I am not good at keeping up with this blog...one excuse I have is that I am not good at downloading pictures into the laptop...did that today...so you are going to be flooded with pictures! This picture is from Christmas (the tree and the dancin Santa gives it away) but they are both sitting still! They will both be 4 this summer...Jetty is 80 lbs and Harley is 125 lbs.

The Wii

I was very excited when we got a Wii. I love video games and this was something to get your lazy butt off the couch...so I would like to extend a formal thank you to Todd Leventis for teaching Michael how to play sitting down. Way to go!!

Mom's 50th Birthday

Last week I flew home to surprise my mom for her 50th birthday. We had a great time! She had no clue I was coming home or that Amber and I had planned a SURPRISE party for her. My uncle was gracious enough to host the party. My grandparents who both have been ill and in the hospital this year were able to put their party hats on too. It was really nice to see everyone.

The Diagnosis

Well the diagnosis is in...I defiantly have crohn's disease. The video capsule showed a few sections of my lower small intestines and small bowel inflamed with ulcers. One section has the big ulcer that went deep enough to hit an artery. That is what caused the GI bleed. Another section contains a stricture of inflammation and old scar tissue. The capsule got stuck there for a little over half an hour. So what's next? I am going to continue the medication I am currently on...and keep my eyes open for symptoms. I am fortunate that I don't have obvious or severe symptoms that are typical of crohns. But because of this I don't know when it is active or when it's in remission. So treating a flare up is going to be difficult.
The video capsule pictures were pretty cool. I wish I could show it. As soon as the camera is turned on you can see pictures. You can see it being sat on my tongue, swallowing it, sitting in my stomach with the water, moving through my intestines...Very cool. So, I guess I can't blame the ulcer on my stressful job, my husband, or my nutty family.
I have still been getting really tired, I never feel like I get enough sleep. Well...that is because I am still anemic...I thought that once my blood count was normal I was good to go. WRONG! My iron level is barely over half of what it should be.

So that is what is up with that....

Back to Normal

I thought I felt better but apparently my attitude sucked! I'm finally off the steroid and suffered (or I should say everyone around me) suffered though the withdrawal...I finally feel really good. I'm still waiting on results for the Video Camera Endoscopy.
Life is starting to get busy again...Michael and I went to Hilton Head on Thursday to watch a bit of the Heritage Golf Tournament...Love that place. It was a beautiful spring day...We followed Ernie Eles around for a bit...not Tiger but good enough!
